THE SPINNINGFIELDS COMMUNITY ALLOTMENT

The Little ‘Lot, a much-loved community allotment located on Hardman Square, is returning for 2025 – ready to grow everything from broad beans and blackberries to mint, tomatoes and lemon balm.

Whether you’re looking to roll up your sleeves or simply pause to enjoy the scents of honeysuckle and herbs, The Little ‘Lot is a free to take part, an accessible space for everyone and a place to reconnect with nature, support local charities and enjoy a breath of fresh air.

Interested in volunteering?

Volunteering sessions will take place fortnightly on Fridays. If you’d like to get involved, simply RSVP via the events page on our app or email info@spinningfields.co.uk and you’ll receive a confirmation email to confirm your attendance. Everyone’s welcome, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just curious to try something new.

With guidance this year from the head gardeners at 4 Seasons, Grant and Tony, these sessions provide a hands-on introduction to allotment life – from planting seeds to tidying flower beds, and everything in between. It’s a wonderful way to boost wellbeing, relieve stress and yes, it even counts as exercise!

Corporate Team Sessions

Looking to bring your colleagues together for a meaningful, outdoor experience? We’re also running corporate volunteering sessions fortnightly on Tuesdays from 12pm–1pm. It’s a brilliant way to encourage team bonding, get away from the desk, and make a tangible difference together.

All the produce grown at The Little ‘Lot is donated to local soup kitchens and to the café at Back on Track, a Manchester charity supporting people recovering from homelessness. By taking part, you’ll help grow nutritious food for those who need it most.

And it’s not just us who benefit – The Little ‘Lot is home to bumblebees, butterflies, blackbirds and more. Keep an eye out for a flutter or a buzz as you potter around.
