HALLOWEEN IN SPINNINGFIELDS

DID YOU TACKLE THE TERROR?

This year’s Halloween in Spinningfields was a spook-tacular hit! The giant orange inflatable monster in Spinningfields Square became an iconic focal point of the city’s Halloween celebrations, attracting huge footfall and drawing visitors from all over to marvel at its size and spectacle. As part of the citywide MCR Monsters invasion, the monster became a must-see for anyone out and about in Manchester.

The crowds couldn’t resist snapping selfies with the towering creature, making it one of the most photographed spots of the season. Visitors flocked to Spinningfields Square as part of the MCR Monsters trail, hunting down all 16 larger-than-life creatures across the city. It was a true community experience, with people of all ages sharing their favourite moments on social media and embracing the fun of the trail.

We also ran a unique competition through our app, inviting the public to help us name the monster. After shortlisting a few names, we added a poll to the app, and the votes came flooding in. In a dramatic finish, the name Jason narrowly beat Orville by just a few votes, becoming the official name of our giant Halloween friend.

It was fantastic to see so many people engaging with the trail and joining in on the fun, with our monster becoming a key part of the season’s celebrations. The event was a great success, further cementing Spinningfields reputation as a go-to destination for city events.
